** NYC Marathon for Boston Children’s Hospital **

This November, my girlfriend Lauren and I will be running the NYC Marathon as part of Boston Children’s Hospital’s “Miles for Miracles” team, and we have a fundraising goal of $6000 (almost as daunting as the marathon itself!). Every donation to our fundraising page is greatly appreciated, and goes to a cause that is near to our hearts: Lauren and Mike Run for “Team Noah” and Boston Children’s Hospital

Our nephew Noah has been a patient at Boston Children’s Hospital since he was a toddler when diagnosed with a never-before-seen genetic condition. This illness affects his vascular system, particularly his lungs, but also many of his major organs. Noah is on oxygen 24/7, takes multiple medications daily, and is inhibited physically by breathing difficulties and other symptoms of his illness.

This will be Lauren’s third marathon with Noah as her partner, and it has shown me how strong and brave all of the Children’s patients are in the face of challenges that they should never have had to endure. I am inspired by the children who are stronger than I could ever hope to be, and to have Noah as our partner will carry me through even the most difficult of times.

Thank you for your much-appreciated donations, which will allow Boston Children’s Hospital continue to help patients like Noah – funds raised are used toward nights of free or subsidized housing for out-of-town families, pet therapy visits and other amenities to make patient stays more comfortable, and supporting the work of over 1400 researchers trying to find cures for their patients.

“Until every child is well.”
